Ukraine | Support for the risk management of journalists

Following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, AFP has mobilized journalists to go on the ground and share information.

In this context, the Agency has mandated TDS to ensure the highest level of safety for its personnel, and in particular to prepare for cases of risk events or aggravation of the situation. 

As a result, TDS has provided AFP with a security/safety expert with extensive experience in war theatre and corporate risk management to support journalists on the move and ensure their safety. 

A feasibility study and risk analysis were carried out in advance in order to have all the information essential for the performance of the expert’s work and its integration into the team of journalists.

The provision of a confirmed expert in the security of people in war zones with a very good knowledge of the area has made it possible to:

• Securing journalists in complex areas
• Map the areas
• Raise awareness among journalists
