MEAL Risk Management Training | Assessment Module

HAMAP – Humanitaire is an NGO committed to equitable access to essential resources such as water and land, operating in 18 countries with offices in Iraq, Lebanon, Mauritania, and Senegal. In order to strengthen its culture of management and impact, the organisation sought to enhance its internal capacities in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL).

Mission Objectives

  • Strengthen understanding of key MEAL concepts among both field and HQ teams
  • Adapt MEAL practices to HAMAP’s operational realities
  • Identify relevant indicators, particularly in key intervention areas such as Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
  • Provide project managers with practical tools to integrate MEAL into the project cycle

Our Approach

TDS Group designed and delivered a one-day training session that combined conceptual insights, context-specific examples tailored to HAMAP’s areas of intervention, and hands-on workshops. The approach focused on the immediate operationalisation of the skills acquired.

Key Results

  • Acquisition of shared MEAL frameworks across teams
  • Selection of relevant indicators drawn from HAMAP’s internal resources
  • Distribution of training materials to participants
  • First milestones established toward the sustainable internalisation of MEAL practices within the organisation

Impact

This training enabled HAMAP teams to better manage their projects, objectively assess their results, and strengthen accountability to both beneficiary communities and financial partners.
